Eligibility
Be a Meliá shareholder and a MeliáRewards member. Silver applies to holdings up to 1,000 shares; Gold requires more than 1,000 held for at least one year; Platinum requires more than 10,000 held for at least one year according to the Spanish Club page.
Minimum holding
The Club does not state a separate numerical minimum below its Silver band. Exactly 1,000 shares do not meet the Gold threshold; exactly 10,000 do not meet Platinum. The Club pages do not specify the interim category for holdings above 1,000 acquired less than a year ago: ask the Club.
Holding method
Ownership is checked through a bank or broker statement. No compulsory direct-registration method is stated. Acceptance of a particular intermediary’s document remains subject to the Club’s verification.
Practical information
- Proof of shareholding
- A bank or broker statement showing the number of Meliá shares and their acquisition date. Supply your first and last names, MeliáRewards number and share count in the official form. No statement age limit or translation requirement is published.
- Duration or qualifying period
- The Club pages do not state the duration or renewal procedure for shareholder-awarded status. General MeliáRewards rules review ordinary categories over 13 months and allow discretionary awards; they do not establish automatic lifetime renewal of shareholder status. Ask the Club for your expiry and revalidation requirements.
Before applying
- Hotel benefits: status unlocks the applicable MeliáRewards benefits, subject to its terms and hotel participation. For example, Silver includes breakfast for an accompanying guest when the member pays the standard breakfast supplement on a room-only booking; exclusions apply, including all-inclusive hotels and restaurants not directly managed by Meliá. Gold adds late checkout subject to availability; Platinum offers an upgrade to the next room category, requested at check-in and subject to availability and room exclusions.
- Calendar and timing: no annual shareholder application cutoff or processing time is published. The one-year holding period for Gold and Platinum is an eligibility condition, not the time taken to process an application. Wait for status confirmation before relying on benefits for a stay.
- Costs: registration and participation in MeliáRewards are expressly free. No separate Shareholders’ Club fee is stated. Share acquisition, custody and bank-document charges remain separate; stays and optional hotel services are not made free by shareholder status.
- From France: the Club states no Spanish-residence requirement and offers English and Spanish application pages. Acceptance of a French broker’s evidence is not individually guaranteed. The general programme lists French hotels, including Meliá Paris La Défense and INNSiDE Paris Charles de Gaulle; check the chosen hotel, booking and active account status before use.
Important limitations
- The Spanish Club page explicitly requires one year for Platinum; the English page omits that duration. This fiche retains the explicit Spanish requirement. General Rewards membership, hotel availability and shareholder status are separate: no guaranteed free stay, permanent status or upgrade is promised.
How to apply
First join MeliáRewards if needed, then complete the separate Shareholders’ Club form and attach the ownership statement on the issuer’s site. The Club verifies the information before assigning status. Questions: club.accionista@melia.com or +34 971 22 45 54. Actionary does not collect the evidence.
Apply only through the issuer's site. Actionary Club does not collect brokerage statements or proof of ownership.
